dux Reginorum contra Dionysium. Diodor. Sic. l. 14. 451. s. alii scribunt Phoeton. Hic deditâ Rhegiô, altissimo tormento, iussu Dionysii, alligatus est, eiusque filius mari submersus. cum hoc ipsi a quodam ministro Dionysii indicaretur, respondit, unô die feliciorem illum esse se. Post haec circumductus est per urbem flagris et omni cruciatu exagitatus, comitante praecone, qui proclamaret, insolito supplicio ideo a Dionysio addictum esse, quod civitati bellum contra se movere persuasisset. Posthaec, cum Dionysius animadverteret quosdam milites, eius misericordiâ commotos, spectare tumultum, et vereretur, ne ab iis eriperetur, iussit eum cum omnibus cognatis submergi in mari.
